The prospect of an easily replaceable SSD seemed like a huge score for prospective Surface owners. That was until the folks at Windows Central read the fine print. It turns out, Microsoft says that (however easy it may have looked on stage) the SSDs in the Surface Laptop 3 and Surface Pro X are “not user-removable” and that you need a “skilled technician” to do so. The breach began around Dec. 1 but was identified by Norton on Dec. 12, it exposed users’ personal data including names, phones numbers, and mailing addresses along with full access to their password manager vaults. This latest credential-stuffing attack comes on the heels of a similar breach affecting 35,000 PayPal users....

The vulnerability, called BlueKeep, was discovered a few weeks ago in older versions of Windows, including Windows 7, Vista, XP and Server 2008. The flaw is so serious that Microsoft was quickly released patches for Windows XP, an operating system the software giant stopped supporting five years ago, as well as Windows 7 and Server 2008 (Vista got nothing, however.) The Pixel 6 Pro is a generational leap for Google hardware, which is particularly shocking coming from the decidedly mid-range Pixel 5 last year. From the outside, it seems sudden, but Google spent years on research and development to get to the release of the Pixel 6 Pro. The results show; the hardware design, the Tensor chip, the new camera array and refined software make last year’s Pixels look years older....

The phone has an amazing new 50MP primary sensor, it uses Google’s new custom Tensor chip and features a premium (though polarizing) design. But we knew all that already. So what changed? The price. At $599, the Pixel 6 is not a flagship phone and Google didn’t refer to it that way, instead, it positioned it as the continuation of Google’s “value proposition” lineup. Of course, if you’re trying to stick to the most affordable option, go with the Pixel 6, but if you have enough cash to weigh your options, you’d be surprised by which offers the most value.
