The jump from two cores to four cores is responsible for the first 25 percent of performance gains, while the last 15 percent comes from design and manufacturing tweaks. Otherwise, the $1,499 Surface Book 2 is still the same as it was before, with a 256GB SSD and 8GB of RAM. You’ll need to spend more on the Core i7 processor to upgrade memory or storage.
